It's official. We are moving to Australia. We booked our flights for June 24th. Excited for the new adventure and all the lovely family/friends we get to spend time with and sad to be saying goodbye to everyone and everything here. Such mixed emotions. We are going to be living RIGHT on the beach. Can't be much prettier. I am going to love so many things about it. Our boys will run free with the DINGOs. Come visit us. xoxo

These kids are crazy and have more personality than I could dream of. Why is it that I get online and see my other blogs and ask myself why I am not a more talented writer? I wish I more eloquently wrote about my children and the joy they are to me. I wish I could communicate how amazing they are... but I guess it is easier for me to capture them in photos. I love how much an image can say. Looking at these people must get the sense of how fun the Hadley boys are. I certainly enjoy them.

Milo turned 3. We had all of his little buddies over for a TOY STORY 3 party. We made sure to have lots of fun things for everyone to do. I can't believe he is so big. Everyone says that as parents but it is because it is scary how fast time flies. It makes me want to savor each lil' moment all the more. What a joy little people are and what fun it is to bring them joy too.

It has been ages since I posted last. For one, because I have been so busy with work and the two boys, but also because I have been writing on my other blog www.showupnakedwithfood.com

I don't have a lot of time but I do like to post every now and then. I am not sure that anyone reads my posts but I know it is a good way to "journal" about our lives and what we are doing. I often just post photos because I love to share them with my family who lives all over the world.

Milo just had his 3rd birthday (will post photos soon) and Mason is now over a year old. Geoff and I just pour over our little men and think they are the most fun people to be with on the planet. They are "best mates" as Milo says and are so fun to giggle with.

The other day Milo and him had to get their vaccinations. We told Milo about the "shots" so that he would not have it take him off guard. After ward in the parking lot, still crying, he asked me in the saddest little boy voice ever, "Momma- why did that mean lady SHOOT me?" I thought it was too funny... Poor little guy-

I wish I could record every single moment of their awesomeness. Thank goodness for IPhones cause we do get to capture a lot of their fun moments. I will be better about posting stuff- forgive me.

Candlelight Serenade Acoustic Festival

I have never worked on anything so hard in my entire life. I spent 6 months of my life organizing, executing, and raising the money to put on this concert for Child Rescue. It was overwhelming, exhausting, and a huge learning experience for me. I am so glad that it is over and that I get to be with my little boys more (even though I was working out of the house). The concert was not the financial success we had hoped for but we were able to raise funds for local law enforement and vicitm services, but there was a huge amount of awareness that took place and people's were moved and are now apart of this anti-trafficking movement. I was humbled by all the help and support we received by generous sponsors, media, and volunteers. Our sea of candles moment was epic. All 4,000+ people had a tea light Candle and we sang the Child Rescue theme song "Light in the Dark" in a tribute to children who are bought and sold as sex slaves in the United States. Child Prostitution and child pornography are human trafficking crimes and are horrific human rights issues. We can all help combat it.

So busy!

I have never been so busy in all my life. My two boys (three if you count Geoffey) and my work with Child Rescue and organizing this benefit concert leaves me with only a few spare moments to do my church calling, Rotary obligations, spend time with friends and family, do house cleaning, and maybe 5 hours a night for sleep. In honor of Geoff's birthday we went boating (I actually hung out for a few seconds). Mason and Milo came. Masey loves being outside. I really miss just being able to play with my little ones. I will cherish every moment I have with them- now and for forever. They are my life. They are my everything. xoxo

Hello all of my lovely friends and family! Please tell everyone you know about our benefit concert this summer. Spreading the word is essential in both amounting to a successful fundraiser and meeting our goals for Child Rescue's public awareness campaign.

It is unthinkable to me that children are trafficked in US let alone Utah. Little kids as young as 6 years old are sold as sex slaves in our own back yards. I spoke with the Attorney General's office recently about this issue and the Sectional Cheif Officer over the Division of Internet Crimes against children said that Utah has a major issue and one of the biggest reason it is happening is because people are so disgusted about this that they turn away. I know this subject is a dark issue but please do not turn away.

Please email, blog, facebook, twitter, or bring this up in conversations. If we collectively can generate enough puplic outrage we can in turn effect political will and help save children.

Devotion, constancy, loyalty, allegiance, fidelity all imply a sense of duty or of devoted attachment to something or someone. Loyalty connotes sentiment and the feeling of devotion. Allegiance applies particularly to one's duty. Fidelity implies unwavering devotion and allegiance to a person, principle, etc.

I hope you all have someone you feel this way about. My Geoffrey makes me want to sing about my love for him. He wakes up each morning and gets Milo and I can hear him on the baby monitor talking sweetly to our son and I can't help but think to myself, do some men come to Earth knowing how to make little children feel like they are completely adored and safe- do some men come here already having mastered the art of woman and children. If so, he must have. He does diapers, dishes, mops floors, cracks my back, rocks Mason, kisses my neck softly when we watch television, helps a friend move their couch, changes the oil, does more diapers, smiles at an elderly lady at the shops, tiles a bathroom, makes his mates laugh online, helps Milo blow bubbles in the bath water, and still has time to make me feel beautiful. Being in a marriage where we have and only ever will share each other intimately is one of the greatest blessings in my life. I take EVERYDAY to make Geoff feel loved and cherished because he does this for me.

Oldies but Goodies

In this digital age I rarely go back and look at old photos. When I use to scrapbook I would spend hours making pages and then would go back and look at them. I love that we can store our images so easily and that I can take a million pictures and not worry about the printing costs, as well as delete as many as I want to later. But there is a part of me that thinks perhaps because there are so many photos saved in my computer, I do not stop to appreciate them. I often associate music with moments in my life, this is a quirky thing that I do but I would love it if my life had a "sound track". Music and images are the most moving things to me and the two of them together = perfection. I really want to take snapshots from my life and moving pictures and put them to music. I have some software to do this, but I just don't have the time. Perhaps my day will come when I can but for now I have to hear the music in my head as I tickle my toddler while his mouth is full of cereal, or hold my sleeping baby's cheek up to mine while I cradle him, or even sneak into bed next to my "waiting" husband and slowly pull his strong masculine arm over my waistline. My life is full of the most lovely moments, a symphony of beauty and grace.

These cute brothers love each other so much. As parents it is so nice to see them adore one another. Milo loves to cuddle Mason and he always says, "Masey... sit" and pats the bed or couch next to him to get me to place Mason next to him. They like to watch Wonder Pets and Little Einsteins together. Notice that they both like to suck on their fingers. Wish I could get them to stop that one, hands in the mouth are no good during flu season. I think that I commonly romanticize the mundane. I feel like many days are the best days ever! I think my boys are the reason for feeling this way. Aren't these boys adorable? I sure think so.

Peanut-Ginger Chicken Recipe
Thanks Jenny for making our hearts sing with this recipe! We ate it tonight and LOVED it. I never post about cooking. I love to cook and love to eat even more. So this is pretty special for me to have taken this time. Enjoy!

Peanut-Ginger Chicken w/Mango Salsa & Coconut Rice

Ingredients:

(Marinade)

6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1/2 cup boiling water

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

1/4 cup bottled chili sauce

3 T. soy sauce

2 T. olive oil

2 T. vinegar

1 T. grated fresh ginger or 1 t. ground ginger

(Salsa)

1 cup chopped fresh mango

1 cup chopped, seeded & peeled cucumber

3 1/2 T. sugar

1 T. olive oil

1 T. vinegar

1 T. lime juice

Chopped Cilantro

Directions -

1. If desired, remove skin from chicken. Place the chicken in a plastic bag set in a shallow bowl.

2. For marinade, in a medium mixing bowl gradually stir water into peanut butter. (The mixture will stiffen at first.) Stir in chili sauce, soy sauce, olive oil, vinegar, and ginger. Pour over chicken. Seal bag; turn to coat chicken with marinade. Chill in refrigerator for at least 12 hours or up to 24 hours.

3. For salsa, in a medium mixing bowl combine chopped fruit, cilantro, cucumber, sugar, the olive oil, vinegar, and lime juice. Cover and chill in refrigerator for at least 1 hour or up to 2 hours.

4. Grill chicken. Serve with the salsa over chicken and with hot coconut rice. Makes 6 servings.

(Coconut Rice)

2 c. Coconut milk

1 ½ c. white rice

1 c. water

3 1/2 T. sugar

½ t. salt

Combine the coconut milk, rice, water, sugar, and salt for the rice in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat, stir once, then cover and cook for 18-20 minutes, or until rice is tender. Fluff with a fork, cover, and keep warm.

Milo calls Mason- "Masey" and loves him more than I ever thought possible. He remembers him in his prayers every night and every meal. He says good night and kisses Mase a million times before we put him into bed. "Bye Masey, See ya, Nigh Night!" He sweetly repeats as he is being carried to his room. Mason is the most mellow person I have ever known. I think he is a gift sent to me. A week or so ago we went to Canada and left Milo with Nanna Jill. Mason got all of our attention for the weekend. It was a treat to focus all of our attention on him. He got really upset for about 5 mins. in the car one night (major gas pain or something) and it made me so upset I nearly started crying. Looking back on the moment I feel silly for over-reacting but it was just that this little man never makes a sound so his pain distressed me beyond what I was ready for. I can't explain how much I love my boys... all three of them... but any mother and wife knows exactly what I mean when I say they make my world all that it is. I love you baby Mason, and your lovely chubby face.

Child Rescue

Geoff and I are now working for a new non-profit organization called Child Rescue of North America. A Canadian group started this organization to combat child trafficking. I have had the opportunity to have been involved with many amazing causes but of all the things I have given my time to, the cause of fighting child sex slavery is by far the most worthy. As a mother of two beautiful children the horrors of this industry actually physically make me ill. I just can't stand by any more. The Blue Kitty Family

This post is for a special family that I just recently spent sometime with. They are dear friends of mine and I have known them for a long long time. In talking with them I realized that I have learn so so much from them in my life. In their honor I will account for some of them here:

-The Five Love Languages, amazing book. Every married couple should read it.

-Arbinger Institute- life changing peace skills. Look it up www.arbinger.com

-Not judging up, or thinking little of rich people who spend a lot of money on things that seem ridiculous to me with my salary. I use to watch Life Styles of the Rich and Famous and use to get disgusted with how these stars spent their money. I thought it was wrong. They taught me that money is relative and when I spend $30 on a bag it is like spending a months salary to many people in the third world, so when incredibly wealthy people buy $3,000 bags I should not be quick to judge. Many people talk about how the wealthy judge the poor but it is possibly more common for the poor to think little of those with money... perhaps because it makes us feel better about not having what they have. It was a huge paradigm shift for me, I appreciated it.

-Digital scrapbooking, I use to scrapbook and then they exposed me to the more cost efficient, more workspace friendly, duplicatable, and professional option of digi scraping. I'll never go back.

-Parenting tips, this cute family has read thousands of parenting books and they are amazing teachers and so whenever I speak to them or read their blog or even so much as think about them... I gain insight into ways to be a better parent.

-work in the home equals love, my friend insists that if you work and do choirs with your family you by default will talk and interact on a different level. These mundane activities are opportunities to reach out and love each other. I love this concept and will always strive to implement it.

-cool artists, the husband of this family is a wonderful artist and is always sharing his love for art and introducing me to artists that before I would have passed on. He was the first to teach me about one of my new favorite artists Alphonse Mucha.

-Temple Prep, this cute couple mentioned something to me that really helped me feel prepared to enter the temple. They explained that every week in church when we take the sacrament we are participating in an ordinance. Baptisms, blessings, and confirmations are all ordinances just like we have ordinances in the temple. Because we grow up so use to these other rituals we do not find them anything but normal... the first experience in the temple is just a continuation of these types of practices and because we have never seen them before we may feel unfamiliar but they are really just new to us. If someone came to a baptism for the first time they would perhaps be puzzled why we need to say specific words and wear specific clothes. It really helped me when I went through the first time.

Milo turned 2 on Jan. 22nd and we had a CAR themed birthday party for him. I loved having my first real birthday party for my child. He had such a great time. My friend Michelle even said, "Wow, usually the birthday boy is in tears, good job!" He has such cute little friends to grow up with. Happy Birthday Big Boy!

We did a "Drive- In" Movie with the kids featuring Pixar's CAR themed short films. Milo loved it.

Kissing Cousins

I went to Denver to visit Annie and her new baby boy Beckett. Milo came with me to play with cousin Tate. Milo loved playing with his cousins. He was so darling to the new baby, I couldn't get him to stop kissing him and trying to hold him. It made me feel good to see his reaction because we are just a few months away from our little new born's arrival.

We got to experience Maui from a Helicopter. The view was lovely, we had a great time but poor Jen got a little sick.

Milo fell face first in the sand when he was still wet from swimming in the ocean or "Oceay" as he calls it. We were laughing so hard, what a silly boy.

We live at Lake Powell for weeks out of the year thanks to my parents amazing house boat. Milo absolutely adores the water, which scares me because he just dives in, you really have to be right there! He is a great little water baby, he can blow bubbles and kick so well. We had such a great time with Geoff's brother Andrew, his wife Dee and their three kids the past month. They came and stayed with us and we just had the best time. That is one of the perks of living so far away is that when family comes to visit they are on "holiday" (as the Aussies call it) mode and just kick back and have fun. It sure was hard to see them go. I don't know who cried more, me or Milo.

Geoff and I got to enjoy a second honeymoon as we went to England for 5 days. My cute parents and sister Jenny watched Milo for us. I hated leaving my baby but it was the best thing as the trip was going to be so short and the jet lag would have really messed with him. We had a wonderful time at the Rotary International Convention in Birmingham and got to enjoy some of lovely London. This world is so full of beauty. We did the following:

1. Hiked up the geometric staircase at a St. Paul's Cathedral tour.
2. Visited Trafalgar Square
3. Strolled down Whitehall.
4. Visited the Big Ben.
5. Set our sights on the beautiful architecture at Westminster Abbey.
6. Window shopping at Harrod's in Belgravia.
7. St. James's Park.
8. Visited the Buckingham Palace.
9. Experienced the changing of the guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
10. Strolled down The Mall, a road that leads to the Buckingham Palace.
11. Enjoyed the scenic nightlife in Piccadilly Circus.

On my way to Thailand I had a 9 hour layover in Paris. It was fun to see Paris in the Spring time but it sure made an already gruelling flight that much longer and harder. Here are a few pics from the day.

China and Hong Kong Again

So after Europe I had to fly to HK and China for business for a week again. It was a good experience and certainly was hard work. Being away from Milo and Geoff was the worst part. International business is hard on your wallet, your body, and your family. I just have the deepest appreciation for my father for all the years he slaved away for us and for over 100 trips to China to give me the life I have had. I love you dad. You are my hero! This picture of me picking up three peanuts with my chop sticks is in honor of my old man. I was at dinner with his business partner and he told me my father is the only person he as ever seen do that... so I worked on it (a little longer than I'd like to admit). Following in your footsteps pops.

We just took a trip to Italy, Switzerland and France. We went with my parents and my sister Jenny and her husband Steve. We didn't even bring bubby with us. It was my first time ever being away from him and it was really hard for me to say goodbye. It was best for everyone that little kids didn't come and we had a lovely time. My dad served his mission in Northern Italy and Southern Switzerland and hadn't been back to his mission yet. It was an absolute joy to following him around and have him tell all his mission stories. He was like a giddy kids at Christmas. His Italian was fantastic for having been gone for so many years. It was a trip to remember!

Milo just turned one on Jan. 22nd. What an amazing year for our little family!!! We can't express how rad we think little Milosh is. He is a "Bloody Legend" as Geoff says. Happy Birthday little man.

Milo started his day his favorite way. He had a bath and then played with his beloved blocks.

We traveled to Kuala Lampur and we really enjoyed that city and all it had to offer tourists, it was so green and lush. We then took a 5 hour bus ride to Singapore, Milo was a champ.

Milo has a new little cousin and we were able to meet her while we were in China. Geoff's brother Dave married the cutest Chinese girl and they just had sweet little Alexzandra a month ago. She is so sweet and tiny. It was the best part of my trip!

We have been Beijing the past few days doing business but also seeing the sights. The people here can't get enough of Milo. Everyone stops to touch/kiss/hug and even take pictures of him, and this comes as no surprise to his parents (we think he is really cute) but we do find it fun to see his reaction to all the attention. We saw the Great Wall, voted one of the New Seven World Wonders http://www.new7wonders.com, it is magnificent.

UP ALL NIGHT!

So little friend was up all night screaming uncontrollably. Nothing would console him. We tried to feed, change, play, entertain... and after 2 exhausting hours Geoff and I decided we should take him to the Emergency room at about 3AM. Just as we stepped outside to get in the car, not only did Milo stopped crying but he actually starting smiling. He was so happy to be outside. I thought this must be some cruel trick. Oh the life of a parent. That morning we took him to Insta Care and found out he had an ear ache, which explains the sudden ease of the pain. He is worth every moment of aggravation, every moment.

My grandpa just turned 80 and we had a big celebration with all of the family. It is always so wonderful to be with our loved ones. Milo got a little fussy because the party went so late so to distract him I went outside to take photos. I just love taking pictures of him, just like every mom must.... it makes me want to be a photographer. Maybe my little sister Emily can teach me a few things. She is really good at photography. I just think images that can be captured in photos can move people in a special way. My life is so blessed. The lovely images of my life fill my heart with joy.
